Nathan Douglas won triple jump gold at the British Indoor Athletics Championships at the Arena, Birmingham
A jump of 16.77 metres in the opening round was enough for the Oxford City star to regain the title, and he was understandably delighted.
“It is nice to be British champion again and especially in Birmingham, where I live,” he said.
“I got a decent opening jump but then I struggled with my run-up and couldn’t find the board.
“I need to be hitting 17 metres because that is when you can call yourself a world class jumper.
City of Oxford’s Gemma Bridge took silver in the 5,000m race walk with a time of 22mins 48.29secs.
Hannah England, was fourth in the 1500m in 4.18.72.
Jade O’Dowda was fifth in her 60m hurdles heat, with Alice Hopkins and Zoe Pollock fourth in their races.
