Marcia attended Matthew Arnold School and joined OLAC as a youngster. She competed for Great Britain as an International Pentathlete in 1979 (Dresden, Germany) and 1980 and 1984 (Vittel, France). Marcia also represented Great Britain in the Heptathlon (Ames, France) in 1986. Marcia continued in athletics as a coach and successfully coached a number of athletes to International level, including Yinka Idowu, David Ralson and David Vidgeon. After taking a break from coaching she is back at OCAC where she coaches a small group of high performance sprint and multievent athletes.
